SERVICE SCHEDULE We come together for Sunday worship to shape and define what is of value and worth to us. Our services focus on topics of spiritual, social and current concerns. We come together to sing, meditate and share our lives with one another. Our worship is designed to meet the diversity of spiritual paths that are embraced within Unitarian Universalism. Sunday services offer a celebration of community, an intellectual challenge and a deepening of the heart. One Sunday a month we gather for breakfast at a local restaurant. All are welcome to join with us.

SUUF 2012 SERVICE SCHEDULE JANUARY January 29 - Homo Sum- Humanism has been around for centuries, but what does it mean to be a humanist? Does it mean you can't believe in a god? Today we will explore the different types of humanism and what these insights and beliefs offer to Unitarian Universalism. FEBRUARY Feb. 5 - Breakfast Gathering - Members and friends are invited to meet at The Golden Goose Cafe at 9:30 AM. The Golden Goose Cafe is located at 2445 West 89A in West Sedona. All are welcome for lively conversation and camaraderie. Feb. 12 - What is Truth?- Theologian Paul Tillich spoke of God as our Ultimate Concern, the thing that is deepest in us and drives us. For what issues would you be willing to put your life on the line? Today we consider Truth with a capital T to consider if there is such a thing… Feb. 19 - Restoring Justice, Restoring Faith - Our criminal justice system is based on a punitive model and is funded by conservative groups that support private prisons. Is this a workable model? Is this justice? Are there alternatives that promote restoring relationships and community care? Feb. 26 - The Stories We Tell- How we tell our stories matters as much as what we tell. Michael White was psychologist who coined the term Narrative therapy, a new way of telling our stories and framing our lives. Today we consider the implications of how and what we tell others about our lives. MARCH March 4 - Breakfast- 9:30 am at the Golden Goose on 89A in West Sedona. March 11 - Indivisible - Quantum Physics seeks to discover the smallest of all particles that make up matter; the basic building blocks of everything. What they are finding is surprising to some, and consistent, it turns out, with what Buddhist Philosophers have posited for centuries. What are they finding? And, what difference does it make in our daily lives? March 18 - Inner Peace, Outer Peace- What is an inner life? How does having one make a difference in the world? We focus so much in our culture on the exterior- beauty, wealth, and youth- that we miss the possibility of a life of satisfaction. March 25 - Roots and Wings- Unitarian Universalism comes out of the Judeo-Christian tradition and, over time, it has changed. What are the roots of our faith that ground us and center us? What elements of that history do we still honor and cherish? Where have we spread our wings to go beyond that history? Where are we headed as a faith movement? APRIL April 1- Breakfast- 9:30 am at the Golden Goose on 89A in West Sedona. April 8 - EASTER- to be announced April 15 - The Present is a Gift- Each day we awaken and greet the world is a gift. Each moment we experience is an opportunity to explore and understand, our bodies, our surroundings and our deep interdependence. What gifts to we bring to each moment? What would it mean to live a Bodhisattva nature in each moment? April 22 - Salvation By Character- William Ellery Channing first publicly declared and defined Unitarianism in 1819. He taught that it was our character that saved us. Developing character requires discipline, practice and patience. April 29
